I'm Joshua Peltz, a retired US Army First Sergeant and professional who specializes in improving any team I'm lucky enough to be a part of. My work spans critical problem solving, emergency response, policy & doctrine, public information, visual media, campaign strategy, and organizational communications, and it is grounded in a twenty-year military career where clarity under pressure was never optional.

Today, I serve as Communications and Aerial Media Specialist for the Montgomery County Highway Department in Tennessee, where I lead public information efforts and drone operations, producing compelling aerial visuals that keeps residents informed about the work happening in their community. I also lead the department's emergency response planning and training, helping ensure the right information reaches the right people when it matters most. Before this role, I served as Communications Director for a local nonprofit, and I bring extensive experience in political campaign management, messaging, and strategy. As a photographer, videographer, and graphic designer, I'm able to take a project from concept to finished product, pairing strategic thinking with hands-on creative execution.

My foundation in communication was built during twenty years of service as a U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Soldier, including 62 months deployed to combat, supporting both conventional and special operations forces. In that field, I learned to brief senior leaders on technical and time-sensitive matters, from advising a two-star Commanding General in Korea on EOD and counter-WMD issues to serving as a subject matter expert briefing leaders at the Strategic and National-Policy level. As a Division NCOIC and Cadre Master Trainer at the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal, I designed and delivered instruction for military and civilian audiences, including how agencies coordinate and communicate during nuclear terrorism and disaster response. I also wrote the funding requests that secured new detection, electronic warfare, and protective equipment for units in Korea, work that depended on building a persuasive, well-supported case for decision makers.

I hold a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from Austin Peay State University and a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Marketing from Franklin University. Whether I'm crafting a campaign message, producing a video, or preparing a briefing, I bring the same approach: understand the audience, get the facts right, deliver the message with precision, and be agile enough to adapt it as the situation warrants.
